We aim to provide an inclusive experience so you can just relax and enjoy the ride.
Many bikes are OK for Bikeout, as long as it’s in safe, working order. You can ride a commuter, a road bike, a mountain bike, or a professional touring bike but before you make your choice please remember you should feel comfortable and confident riding this bike for 3-4 hours at a time.
It's possible road bikes will not be recommended for all rides, please read more about our route terrain on each trip page for more information. We strongly encourage all riders to schedule a tune up with one of our bike shop partners before Bikeout.
There is no rain date for our rides & we’ll travel rain or shine. Our group leads and volunteers have been briefed on how to manage inclement weather scenarios during Bikeout, whether on the ride or on-site. If there is severe weather which poses a significant safety risk to Bikeout riders, you'll hear directly from our team about next steps.
We offer a payment option to allow attendees to pay for their trips over time, which is available automatically at checkout. We partner with Affirm to offer this option and you can read more details by visiting their site and reading about monthly payments on our Policies page. We also offer 5 Access Grants for each Overnight ride, which include a free Bikeout ticket for individuals from communities typically under-represented in cycling and the outdoors. We also have group lead and volunteer opportunities for free and discounted tickets.
Overnight riders are responsible for bringing their own bike, helmet, tire tubes, and camping equipment including a tent, sleeping bag, and sleeping pad. We will provide a packing list with other recommended essentials after you purchase a ticket. We also recommend reviewing the "What's Included" section on each of our trip pages. Please note helmets are mandatory at Bikeout.
